Springfield College has an unmatched history in the world of kinesiology and exercise science. Springfield alumni can be found making a difference in athletic programs across the map. Needless to say, we’re beyond honored that after a robust evaluation period, Springfield has selected PlayerData to be their GPS provider across multiple sports.
“At Springfield College we’re focused on two aspects: the performance of our athletes and the education of our strength and conditioning students,” said Mary Kate Feit, the Associate Director of Strength and Conditioning at Springfield College. “The usability, durability, and support provided by PlayerData makes this product the optimal GPS monitor for us.”
Springfield has taken pride in being on the cutting edge of health and performance for its student-athletes. By integrating PlayerData’s performance tracking technology, athletes, coaches, and students will now have access to advanced metrics like distance, speed, accelerations, and jump count and more. Springfield will start by rolling out PlayerData across multiple sports including football, women’s soccer, men’s soccer, and field hockey.
As much as Feit looks forward to optimizing the health and performance of Springfield’s athletes, she believes the integration of PlayerData’s GPS technology will also greatly benefit a large contingent of the school’s graduate student body.
“We use GPS monitors to increase the performance of our athletes by optimizing our practice plans to find the balance between promoting physical adaptations in our athletes and monitoring and controlling fatigue,” said Feit. “Additionally, the hands-on experience using technology such as PlayerData prepares our Strength and Conditioning graduate students for their future roles in the field.”
While PlayerData has developed a reputation as the best option for first time GPS users, the company’s relentless commitment to innovation has resulted in their FIFA Quality certified tech putting the company in the top echelon of performance technology. Springfield joins a growing list of forward-thinking programs making the switch to PlayerData – including Davidson College, Air Force, University of North Carolina women’s soccer, University of Georgia women’s soccer, Crystal Palace FC women’s and academy teams, and Philadelphia Union.
“Switching to a new company can be intimidating,” admits Feit. “However, the support and communication from the PlayerData team has made us comfortable with the transition.”
