Our company was founded under the philosophy that elite sports performance tracking technology should not only be reserved for the professional ranks. In fact, we know the biggest impact our tech can have is with developing athletes.
So, we’ve intentionally built our tech to produce high integrity and impactful data but without over-complicating the usability of the product. And based on the response, it appears we’ve been right on target.
When St. John’s College High School out of D.C. was looking into GPS tracking, they decided PlayerData was the best fit for their athletic department. To start, they introduced PlayerData to their basketball program. After that experience, they’ve since expanded their usage across additional sports including football, boys and girls lacrosse, and boys and girls soccer.
“When it comes to managing workload and setting athletes up for peak performance, why guess when you can objectively know?” said Matthew Smith, Director of Sport Performance at St. John’s College High School. “PlayerData makes the process of collecting data and generating reports simple and efficient. Their support staff has proven to be available when needed and experts in their respective disciplines.”
St. John’s College High School has also seen a great response from their athletes, who have a strong desire to know their game day and training metrics like distance, top speed, accelerations, decelerations, jumps, and more. PlayerData comes with a specific athlete app, so each athlete can access their own metrics straight from their phone.
By understanding the actual demands and benchmarks of the game, athletes are able to train smarter and understand the levels they need to achieve to reach their goals without any guesswork.
“Our student athletes love wearing the units and competing amongst their teammates,” said Smith. “As coaches, we are always looking for ways to ‘game the game’ and stir up some healthy competition. PlayerData provides another tool to drive competition and gamification.”
