Homeless World Cup 2023, Sacramento

PlayerData is excited to announce our continued support at this year's 2023 Homeless World Cup in Sacramento, California.

The countdown is on! We’re excited to announce our continued support of the Homeless World Cup with the first ever US event being held in Sacramento, California from Sat 8th July to Sat 15 July 2023.

The week-long event will see 500 players from across the globe reunited at California State University, Sacramento as the tournament returns after a four-year hiatus, due to the pandemic.

Having supported previous Homeless World Cup tournaments in Mexico City (2018), Cardiff (2019) along with the regional tournament in Fuenlabrada (2022) as the events' official data partner, our PlayerData EDGE GPS trackers enable teams from around the world to digitally track and analyse their performance through-out the tournament.

Homeless World Cup Fuenlabrada, Madrid

Our mission is to revolutionise the way athletes train and bridge the gap across all levels of the game, while building a community for athletes from all backgrounds and corners of the globe to come together with their shared passion. The Homeless World Cup provides us with the perfect platform to do so.

Mel Young, President and Co-Founder of the Homeless World Cup Foundation, said:

“PlayerData have supported us at our two previous Homeless World Cups (Mexico 2018 and Cardiff 2019), so we are delighted to be working with them again in Sacramento. The data collected by the PlayerData GPS trackers over the 8 days of competition will support managers and players alike in multiple areas including workload and performance, match and individual analysis and development of ideas and formations. PlayerData GPS technology provides invaluable insight and will continue to be a welcome addition to our Member Countries and tournament offering.”

Beth Gray, Chief Operating Officer at PlayerData, commented on the 18th edition of the annual tournament:

“We absolutely could not pass up on the opportunity to support the Homeless World Cup again as they make their return in Sacramento. Having attended the previous two tournaments, I can't stress how impactful and eye-opening an event it is, as well as being incredibly inspiring, watching such talented athletes! If we can add just a little extra by giving the athletes access to their performance data and professionalise their game that little bit more, we will. And, we will continue to do so as this marks a continued partnership between PlayerData and the Homeless World Cup.”
